Why Fundraising?

Since our old winter tennis Bubble was retired after 16 wonderful years of use, the SSTA has worked steadily toward the creation of a permanent replacement facility for Salt Spring Island. We are now very close to our goal, and while we have saved and banked money for the project, it is not yet enough. Our fundraising is all directed to this purpose, since we, ourselves, are a not-for-profit Society.

Events are planned throughout the year, with dates and details shown here.
"Reminder" notices with the latest information are sent to SSTA members
close to the dates of each event.

*EXCITING NEW FUNDRAISER*

We are pleased to announce that we now have a range of smart tennis clothing
items embroidered with our BRAND NEW CLUB LOGO which may be ordered through
SSTA member, Louise Devlin (250-537-4622)

*Items (available in blue or white) include*:

• *five styles* of short- or long-sleeve sport shirt in a variety of fabrics
  for men, women or children.
• *four styles* of jacket in varying weights of material, as well as
  sweatshirts, caps and bags.

Any of these handsome items will make great birthday, Christmas or any
occasion gifts for friends or for yourself!

A percentage of sales will benefit your Club with proceeds going toward the
new indoor tennis facility. Pictures and prices will be on the website
shortly.

Several other ways to help the SSTA achieve the necessary remaining funds:

• through our club event fundraisers. We already owe huge, ongoing thanks to both the creators of the events, and to those who take part in them. Should you wish to initiate a fundraiser, please contact a member of the Executive.
• by tax deductible donation, through Tennis Canada. This requires a minimum donation of $500. (For most people a $500 donation, in the end, only costs $328.78, but please consult your tax professional for more information.) Details and submission forms are available from SSTA Executive.
  
• by grants from foundations and supporting organizations. We would appreciate the determined researchers among you to search out these possibilities.
• from corporations and businesses who can sponsor opportunities by their support.
